Wormy ambrosia maple is a distinctive hardwood known for its unique grain pattern, characterized by streaks and swirls caused by the ambrosia beetle. This beetle burrows into the wood, creating small tunnels that result in natural markings, adding character and visual interest to the maple. The wood is prized in woodworking and furniture making for its combination of durability and decorative appeal, often used in custom cabinetry, flooring, and artisanal projects. Its light color with contrasting wormy streaks provides a rustic yet refined look that enhances both traditional and contemporary designs.
